Prayer Requests

980x520-LyimHong-Tiong

Here is a 9 January update from Tan Kian-Gak, moderator of the Presbyterian Church in Taiwan:

Thank you for your prayers for PCT General Secretaryand the numerous messages of concern! The family wish PCT to share this update: Rev. Lyim Hong-Tiong has been “un-hooked” from the endotracheal tube (as of 9 Jan) and is able to breathe on his own. He is also regaining consciousness and showing improvements step by step as doctors had predicted. Please rest assured his condition is stable. However, may we stress once again that you do not make calls or go to visit. This is to reduce danger of infection and give him good rest and recovery. We ask for your continued prayers.

Our sisters and brothers in the Presbyterian Church in Taiwan have asked for prayers for Lyim Hong-Tiong, their general secretary:

Dear Friends,

On behalf of the Presbyterian Church in Taiwan (PCT) we wish to share this information and request for prayers.

PCT General Secretary, Rev. Lyim Hong-Tiong was unexpectedly taken ill early Saturday morning 4 January 2020. Fortunately, he was at home at the time and was immediately taken to Mackay Memorial Hospital (MMH). After successful surgery, he is now in stable condition in the ICU. Rev. Lyim’s family notified PCT that he suffered a stroke due to constant lack of sleep and heavy work load.

Please keep Rev. Lyim Hong-Tiong in your prayers; his family value your concern and support but kindly request that Rev. Lyim not be disturbed by visitors or calls at this time enabling him to rest and to aid his recovery.

Rev. Tan Kian-Gak
Moderator, PCT 64th General Assembly

Please join us in prayer for his recovery, for his family and friends and for the PCT.
