Many of the WCRC’s members and partners promote peace and reconciliation efforts in their contexts. The global office supports this work through a variety of means, including direct funding, accompaniment programs and visitations. In Colombia, the project for the accompaniment and verification of the peace agreement and implementation of the measures agreed therein between the Colombian government and FARC-EP (and ELN, when an agreement is finalized) continues. Funding supports personnel that are a neutral, mediation point who can observe that all sides are holding to the peace agreement. This includes verification and monitoring the implementation of the agreement in those regions that were most impacted by the conflict, deploying personnel around the country and in some of the most remote areas.
