The general secretary of the World Communion of Reformed Churches, Rev. Philip Vinod Peacock, visited the World Council of Churches to strengthen relationships and explore deeper collaboration between the two communions.
During the visit, Peacock met with WCC general secretary Rev. Prof. Dr Jerry Pillay and members of the WCC programme staff. The meeting provided an opportunity to reaffirm the shared commitment of the global ecumenical movement and to reflect together on the role of the church’s prophetic witness in a polarized and fragile world.
The conversation highlighted the long-standing partnership between the World Communion of Reformed Churches and the World Council of Churches, as well as the importance of continued cooperation in addressing pressing global challenges. Both leaders emphasized the need for churches to work together in advancing justice, peace, and reconciliation.
Peacock expressed appreciation for the ongoing partnership and support of the WCC, noting the significance of collaboration within the ecumenical movement. He underscored the importance of acting together as churches in a world marked by division and violence, and reaffirmed the commitment of the World Communion of Reformed Churches to deepening cooperation with ecumenical partners.
The visit reaffirmed the shared vision of both communions to strengthen the unity and witness of the global church and to continue working together for a more just and peaceful world.
