PCUSA delegation to visit Korea, the plan includes a visit to No Gun Ri Peace Park and a formal presentation by Nelson about the denomination’s desire for the U.S. to acknowledge its responsibility in the deaths of those Korean civilians. The overture encourages appropriate compensation be given to the surviving victims and to the families of those killed or wounded in the incident to begin resolving resentments and feelings of guilt, and move toward forgiveness and reconciliation.

Just a half-dozen years before Martin Luther sparked the Reformation by nailing 95 theses to the door of the Castle Church in Wittenberg, Germany, a Dominican friar preached against slavery and advocated for human rights to Spanish authorities on the island of Hispaniola.

To commemorate this anniversary, the Presbyterian Foundation has produced a series of videos on the Reformation — its leaders setting and implications for today. Six videos have been released so far: Overview of the Reformation, Wittenberg, Zurich and Geneva: Cradles of the Reformation, Martin Luther, Huldrych Zwingli, John Calvin, Crannach’s Altarpiece: Witness to the Reformation.

Churches in the Netherlands held dialogue on Future of Europe: Secularism, mission, migration and the unique role of churches in political and historical contexts of Europe were themes sharply in focus at a consultation organised by Conference of European Churches and the Protestant Church in the Netherlands.

A conference at the Dalit Women’s Centre, Kurichy of social workers and activists on the theme of “Growing Violence against Women and Children” was conducted on October 14, 2017. Ms Maya Pramod, Dalit activist and research scholar at Calicut University, made the presentation on the theme. Juxtaposing a brief account of Dalit women’s history and the contemporary socio-political situation of Kerala, she drew our attention to various related issues of atrocities against women and children.

An historical event took place in Benoni, Johannesburg, when the moderatures of URCSA and the Dutch Reformed Church met. They were joined by the moderators of the regional synods of both churches. And they talked about … unification.
