The Africa Communion of Reformed Churches (ACRC) invites all members of the World Communion of Reformed Churches to join a Zoom reflection and prayer on 18 June. The invitation that follows comes from Rev. Dr Lungile Mpetsheni, general secretary of the Uniting Presbyterian Church in Southern Africa.
Dear people of God,
Following the announcement by the ACRC President, please receive this notice convening a moment of reflection and prayers over the current developments that border on xenophobia in Southern Africa, threatening African unity on Thursday, the 18 June 2026 at 14:00 (2 pm) CAT. This could be 3 pm – East Africa time, 1 pm – Nigeria time, and 12 noon – Ghana time.
The session will start with a two-phased reflection:
1) Churches in Southern Africa will shed light on the situation and what the response of the church should be
2) Prof Allan Boesak will give a theological reading of the signs of the times with regard to the developments.
The President will then facilitate the moment of devotion, including prayers. The ZOOM link is below. Attendance is open to all.
