Executive Committee

The WCRC’s Executive Committee is comprised of officers and members elected by the most recent General Council, along with the elected leaders of the regional councils.

The general secretary serves as an ex officio member.

The Executive Committee meets annually and is responsible for:

  • Exercising general oversight of the work of the WCRC between General Council meetings
  • Approving the annual financial reports and adopting the annual budget
  • Electing a general secretary and appointing executive secretaries
  • Deciding on admission to and suspension of member churches in consultation with local members, subject to ratification by the next General Council.

Rev. Dr. Karen Georgia Thompson, United Church of Christ (United States)

Elected by approximately 400 delegates during the 27th General Council in Chiang Mai, Thailand.

Vice Presidents

Five vice presidents were also elected:

  • The Rt. Rev. Fonki Samuel Forba, Presbyterian Church in Cameroon
  • Kar Hor Lim, Gereja Presbyterian Malaysia
  • Rev. Martina Wasserloos, Reformed Alliance in Germany
  • Raissa Vieira Brasil, United Presbyterian Church of Brazil
  • Johann Weusmann, Evangelical Church in the Rhinelands in Germany; WCRC general treasurer

In addition, seventeen members were elected to the Executive Committee:
