Prayer Requests

Grégoire de Fombelle/WCC

The Presbyterian Church in the Republic of Korea (PROK) calls on ecumenical partners to join in prayer for peace, democracy, and reconciliation on the Korean Peninsula.

In December 2024, South Korea experienced a period of political instability following the declaration of martial law. While the situation has since shifted, uncertainty remains as the nation seeks a path forward. The PROK, along with many in the faith community, continues to pray and work for justice, stability, and the well-being of all people.

At the same time, the longstanding division between North and South Korea remains a challenge, and the need for reconciliation is as urgent as ever. As part of the ongoing commitment to peace, The Presbyterian Church in the Republic of Korea (PROK) is building the Reconciliation and Peace Church near the DMZ—a space dedicated to prayer, dialogue, and unity. Let us pray for its completion and for it to be a place of healing and hope.

As we look to the future, we invite our member churches and ecumenical partners to join us in praying for:

  • Peace, stability, and justice in South Korea.
  • The church’s role in fostering dialogue and reconciliation.
  • Renewed efforts toward peace and unity between North and South Korea.
  • The successful completion and mission of the Reconciliation and Peace Church.

Prayer for Korea

God of peace,
We lift up the Korean Peninsula to You.
We pray for wisdom for leaders, healing for communities,
And hope for all who long for peace.
Strengthen Your church to be a voice of reconciliation and justice.
May divisions be healed, and may harmony be restored.
Let Your peace prevail.

Amen.
